True Friends

It’s easy to make acquaintances and begin to think they are friends. These aquaintances seem to be there when things are going well, but when adversity strikes they start to back away or we push them out if the response is not to our liking. So how do we know who is a true friend. A true friend will walk with you even if the journey is long. A friend will see who you are even if the mask you wear becomes darkened and distorted. A friend will pick you up and carry you when you are to tied to continue. A friend will stand and tell you truth even if you deny it. A friend will cry when your hurt and leap with joy when you succeed. A friend will ask if you need something even if you have plenty. A friend will love you in those moments that you doubt yourself and are unloveable. A true friend is hard to find, except they are there waiting for you to need them patiently, with strength and open arms no matter how many times you hold them at bay. How many of these can we aquire to love us until we learn to love ourselves and them.
