It is hard for the new person to understand just how full and rich your life can become, by just integrating and working the steps. A life so full of anguish, destruction, and pain can become a life of hope and happiness. Those of us who came from the darkness of despair, have seen the miracles happening around us, when the principles become a way of life. The difficulty comes in trying to communicate this to the skectical contempt of the active alcoholic. This is where our code of love and tolerance plays the most important part of carrying the message of hope. My prayer is always that the Power Greater then myself opens my heart, my teaching, and my mind to convey a message, that gives the newcomer hope, that he too can hear the message, that there is recovery, outlined in the Big Book, for those of us who hear it and seek it. May we all extend the hand of our program and carry the tradition of love and service, and that there is a fulfilling life awaiting.
