I talk with you and you speak your pain
Nothing I say seems to take it away
I reach out and try to ease you doubt
but your doubt still exists
What do I need to say that has meaning
How do I reach the true voice inside that makes you listen
I extend my hand to help you reach
But you say to me, it’s to far
How much further do I extend my heart
To pull you from the darkness that is your experience
To just lift you enough where you can climb
I don’t have the answers I just know where I’ve been
All I can do is just repeat what was repeated to me
Seek and you will find
Walk and let the journey guide you
Ask questions and let yourself be taught
Learn that it is all inside of you
waiting for you to hold the true value
Of the gift you are
If you weren’t worth the effort God wouldn’t have spent the time
To bury the beauty inside your heart for you to to find
So one day you can talk with someone in pain
And try to reach them and tell them the place you’ve been
