THE SICKNESS OF SELF

The sickness of self can lead us down the path of more physical manifestations, of the original mental illness. Modern medicine is starting to recognize the importance of holistic treatment of ailments, the recognitions of treating mind, body, and spirit. From my own experience of mental and health issues, I have dealt with severe emotions that arise after physical treatment; one is often filled with depression, and self-pity of the attack that has been set upon us. It is easy to ask the question, why me? It’s true that something’s are not necessarily our fault, but there are things we must be responsible for, that lead to health. Presence of mind is one of the most important; I’ve seen people who have changed the progress of their recovery through, positive thinking. Laughter is another great tool of recovery of all afflictions, putting an honest smile on, removes those thoughts of self-pity. We must help the body heal, the ability to heal the body is within all of us, this is where we must bring in spiritual assistance, mediating on our healthiness and having an intimate conversation with that higher consciousness which is an extension of ourselves. Of course there are things beyond us, and our control, especially when we’ve gone beyond the time where treatment possibly, could have been effective. I have had great physicians, that absolutely saved my life, but I HAD to follow directions, and have faith in their judgments. Trusting doctor’s and fear of losing control, are the two biggest issues for us, but trusting the Power is the key to removing fear. I have to believe, that all things are POSSIBLE, when I believe all things are POSSIBLE.
Now: My blog is regarding recovery of mostly substance abuse, but recovery of substances, is learning that most diseases can be escalated by our mind, but many of our dis-eases can be managed by positive thought that “it is what it is” but I can keep on working and walking towards health, until I can’t. I’m living by Grace, and any recovery, I have ever achieved has been a gift, but coming to that consciousness of healthy thought, was my job. God helps those who help others and themselves.
Peace Out. M
