It tells us on page 67 of the “Big Book,” that in order to find our way out of resentment “we ask God to help show us the same tolerance, pity, and patience that we would cheerfully grant a sick friend. When a person offended we say to ourselves, “This person is a sick person.” HOW can I be helpful? God save me from being angry. Thy will be done.”
I have often in the past have had to say this 4th step prayer, because of my intolerance of people, places, and things. I must always say it on a daily bases, because of the things that are presented in everyday living. If I can utilize this valuable key I will have a good chance of having a better tomorrow, and to find that serenity that we so desperately seek. I must be taught on a daily basis, that acceptence is the key to my problems and my future.
