Being a slave to something is the lowest point of human existence. Many have lost there lives for the gift of freedom. The day I realized that I had found freedom form the shackles of addiction, an overwhelming sense of peace surrounded me.
This didn’t happen suddenly it took years to really understand freedom. Freedom comes in the form of knowing that you have regained the power to choose. Something we haven’t understood in the destortion of ‘ISIM’. This is the awareness of the gift of the God Conciousness within ones self. The power of choice gives you the power to create a new way to live, a new way to think, a new way to relate to the world. Choice gives us meaning of our existence. This is what recovery does, it breaks the bondage of self will, one day and choice at a time, “Freedom!” My personal description of this beautiful word. If you are struggling please know that there is no price to high to pay for the sense of feeling it.

I never have to resent anyone
I never have to damn anyone
I never have to abuse anyone
I never have to cry again
I never have to lie again
I never have to feel the cold steel of a gun in my mouth again
I never have to drink again
These are the choices I can make with the help of a power greater than me.
