Learning Limits

My Alcoholism had no boundaries, it was just about more, there was never enough. Evertything about me was about pushing boundries, I wanted what I wanted and it had to be immediate. I suffered from the phenomena of craving, I drank for the effects and the effects were never enough. The 12 steps have taught me to learn boundries, not trying to push limits but try to find limits. I noticed early on that the effects of this were rampant in everything I did. The application of the first 3 steps began to instruct me on how to make change, the 4th and 5th taught me to see what I needed to change. The 6th and 7th taught me to find the humility to ask a power I had no identification of, to help me change. 8th and 9th taught me how to apply that newfound humility and reduction of ego by making amends for my limitless living. The 10th, 11th, and 12th teach me how to stay within the boundries of a sober life. Thank all of those who came before and taught, all those who stay and teach, and all those who need the lessons of the 12 steps.
Peace Out: M copyright 2014
