In order for me to stay sober I must make every effort to stay connected. With the demands of meeting the challenges of our new life, we take on responsibilities we may never have had in the past. Most of us try to live in society like those who are not effected by the disease. In our search for a more normal life, we find jobs, partners, children, education, these things many of us didn’t strive for in our retreat from the world. I have seen this in myself and others. What I always MUST remember is my primary purpose to stay sober, this for me means that I must make time for sobriety in order to stay one more day .

Loyalty
Loyalty
Loyalty is a something to cherish, it is a blessing to find it, and somethig to learn to be. Love those who are, and even more so for those who aren’t. They are the ones who bring us the biggest gift of all, we should learn from then what we should not be. It is said to learn to “love thay enemy as thy self,” I know for me to try not make an enemy but learn to make a friend. John Kennedy, was striving for diplomacy, better relationships with those who opposed us, I must do that with everyone I meet. In the principle of the 12th step we must carry a message, if we dismiss those who are disloyal to us or who we perceive to be disloyal, we dismiss the unconditional part of the principle. It’s not them who needs to change, it is my judgmental thoughts. Loyalty is hard to come by, but it something I must have to help those who are in need of my help. Reach out and touch those whose hearts have been closed but the ravages of our disease of self, be loyal too the principles of our program. Love and service is the keys to the kingdom. May God hold you and keep you, now that’s loyalty! Thank you God for the blessing of one more day to give thanks.
