How do we find, and understand a Power Greater then ourselves exists, when we reach a pinnacle of disbelief, and doubt, and that nothing other than the power, of material wealth, greed, ruthlessness, loss of morals, inebriation, and lust, fill all the cavities of the brain. We are so consumed, by consumer bombardment, by the media, display of violence, fear and sex, that we become overwhelmed, distorted, and distracted, to the point all we want is something, to alleviate the pain of confusion. These thoughts can become so vivid, that we can’t see through the veil, of vanity and fear. We stop trying to reverse the thoughts of stimulation, and start to distort or natural instincts, and make disastrous decisions, that change the entire spiritual nature of the principles our human soul. If you don’t believe you have a soul, then you live by no boundaries, which separate us from animals. The lack of boundaries, allows us to justify, all the actions we take, to dismantle morals, and values, that leads to a hedonistic way of life, forgetting community, and welfare of all, only to live a self-centered life.
Several spiritual texts warn us of the dangers of feeding the flesh, meaning giving in to those distorted instincts, and how they can lead us down into our own self-imposed Hell. Dante’s Inferno had nothing on the Hell I imprisoned myself too. The demons the mind can create, are appetites that can’t be quenched, needs that are never fulfilled, illusions and hallucinations, that no magic act can imitate. I ran into all the things that are described in all the writings, that existed since print was invented and before. I just couldn’t see the simplicity in just, not doubting, meditate and converse with humility, letting go of distorted ego and low esteem, and start by giving love with no expectation of anything in return. These were the concepts, and principles, of finding, the Power of The Universal Light, that I can’t describe, touch, see, because I am.
